Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about caring for and cooking with American-made cast iron.

Does my new Lodge cast iron cookware need to be seasoned before first use?

No, all Lodge cast iron cookware comes pre-seasoned with 100% natural vegetable oil and is ready to use right out of the box. Simply give it a quick rinse with hot water and dry it thoroughly before cooking your first meal.

How do I clean my cast iron without damaging the seasoning?

Hand wash your cookware with hot water and a stiff brush. You may use a small amount of mild dish soap if desired. Always dry immediately and completely with a lint-free cloth or paper towel, then rub with a light layer of cooking oil while the pan is still warm.

What is your return policy for items purchased online?

We offer a 30-day return policy for unused items in their original packaging. Please note that shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the customer unless the product arrived damaged or defective.

Can I use Lodge cast iron on a glass-top stove?

Yes, Lodge cookware is compatible with glass-top stoves. However, we recommend lifting the pan rather than sliding it across the surface to prevent scratching, and always ensure the bottom of the pan is clean and smooth.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Standard orders typically process within 2-3 business days. Once shipped, delivery usually takes 3-7 business days depending on your location within the continental United States.

Is Lodge cast iron cookware dishwasher safe?

No, cast iron should never be put in the dishwasher. The harsh detergents and high moisture will strip the seasoning and cause the iron to rust. Hand washing is the only recommended cleaning method.
